| On the basis of both detailed distributional field studies and morphological analyses, a revision of the polytypic species Albinaria hippolyti from Central and Eastern Crete is presented. True subspecies are distinguished from mere geographic varieties by the presence of narrow hybrid zones. Using this criterion, four adjoining subspecies are recognised: A. h. hippolyti (Boettger, 1878), A. h. aphrodite (Boettger, 1883), A. h. holtzi (Sturany, 1904) and A. h. harmonia subspec. nov. Additionally, two geographically isolated and conchologically distinctive forms are also treated as subspecies: A. h. arthuriana (Boettger, 1878) and A. h. asterousea subspec. nov. | The history and current taxonomic status of 62 nominal taxa are revised that have been associated in the literature with the subgenus Tholachatina Bequaert, 1950, of genus Archachatina Albers, 1850, and the genus Cochlitoma Férussac, 1821, in the land snail family Achatinidae Swainson, 1840. Tangible, reliable characters have been found in the detailed features of the reproductive anatomy in this family. The results of comparative anatomical study convincingly reflect phylogeny in contrast to the comparative study of only the shell characters. | Our knowledge concerning the recent and fossil species and subspecies of the Aciculidae is summarized. After some introductionary chapters concerning habitat, anatomy, shell morphology and distribution, both in time and geographical, all taxa are dealt with systematically. In total 56 recent species of Aciculidae are characterized, belonging to Acicula (20), Menkia (1), Platyla (25) and Renea (10). In addition 15 fossil species are recognized, in Acicula (5), Menkia (1), Platyla (6) and Renea (3). Four Acicula species and one Platyla species are known from the Miocene to the Recent. | Se presenta una lista parcial de gasterópodos terrestres Punctoideos del "Centro de Pesquisas e Conservação da Natureza Pró-Mata" (São Francisco de Paula, Estado de Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) (CPCN-PM). Esta lista incluye siete especies, dos de ellas son nuevas. | ABSTRACT We describe a new genus and a new species in the family Epiphragmophoridae, Minaselates paradoxa sp. n. The new species was found at the National Park Cavernas do Peruaçu, in northern portion of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Minaselates paradoxa sp. n. is classified in Epiphragmophoridae based on the fact that it shares the following diagnostic features of the family: a dart apparatus with a single dart sac, and two unequal mucous glands at the terminal genitalia. Minaselates gen. n. differs from Epiphragmophora Doering, 1874 by having a granulose protoconch, shell spire with blunt apex, complex microsculpture on the teleoconch and closed umbilicus fused with the shell wall. | Micractaeon kakamegaensis Verdcourt, 1993 (type loc. Kenya, Kakamega Forest), is a synonym of Pseudopeas koptawelilense Germain, 1934 (type loc. Kenya, Mt. Elgon); the proper name is therefore Micractaeon koptawelilensis (Germain, 1934). New anatomical data are supplied, more or less confirming classification in the family Ferussaciidae. The shell is subject to some considerable variation in size, shape and sculpture. The species appears to be widely distributed in various types of forest in tropical Africa (Ghana, Cameroon, eastern and south-eastern Zaïre, Kenya, Malawi, and eastern Zambia); hypsometrical distribution is generally from c. 950 m to c. 2300 m, although in Ghana it has been collected at altitudes of between < 250 and c. 700 m. |

| Several forms of Albinaria idaea (L. Pfeiffer, 1849) have been described as (sub)species from various sites on Mt. Ida (Central Crete). In recent years, however, much additional material has been collected, which made clear that no sharp boundaries exist between these forms. Moreover, several characters proved to be altitude dependent to a certain extent. It may be concluded that on Mt. Ida only a single evolutionary entity can be distinguished, viz. A. i. idaea. | The genus Negulus is reviewed; only four Recent species, restricted to continental Africa, are recognized. The genus is extinct in Europe, being only recorded from Tertiary deposits. A key to the shells of the Recent species (all figured) is supplied. The anatomy is as yet unknown. A sinistral shell of N. abyssinicus is described from among a series of paralectotypes in the Leiden Museum, the first such abnormality in the genus (figured). All 18 species are restricted to the northern, granitic islands.
